André Skupin

André Skupin的主要研究兴趣包括地理信息可视化、地图概括、数据挖掘以及信息可视化。该地图通过对1993年到2002年十年间的美国地理学协会年会提交的2.2万多篇摘要计算而来。该方法将每篇文献看作是短语的n维向量。利用自组织映射(Self-Organizing Map,SOM)法,这些向量被用来建立一个地理知识领域的神经网络模型。然后,该神经网络模型被转变成两种信息模式:(1)一种是利用还把高度来标准单个主题集中的程度;(2)采用多级文本标签对不同的可视化区域进行标注。地图最终利用标准的地理信息信息(GIS)软件进行制图。
